Montauk

Clem waits under umbrella memory.

She’s green, red, orange, blue: “I just eat, work, sleep.”

Huckleberry Hound, lead me to deep sheets —

sandy feet, following daily anarchy

of a hopeful, hoping understanding.

A broken bottle, my dear Clementine.

“Please let me keep this one.” I keep begging,

everybody’s gotta learn sometime, the

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

The one that will lead us through the darkness —

“I wish I had stayed”; scared of what I’d find.

What a near miss of forgetfulness.

You said, “so go” with such disdain,

melted in visions of Eternal day.

Based off of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004).
